Avastin Treatment

My father was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cancer. In a short time it spread to several parts of his body. His cancer is extremely aggressive. He has only had two types of treatment that the doctor will do for him. The first one was Torisel but he had bad reactions to it. Now, the doctors are going to use avastin. Has anyone had any experience in this treatment? All the documentation I have read on it has been "rare cases". What are the norm reactions? And if he had such bad experiences with Torisel (only had two treatments), then is avastin a "gentler" alternative?
