Phantom Pain?
It so happens that I broke my arm...my LEFT arm!!! ... a bit over a month ago. I am wondering if you are experiencing phantom soccefreaks pain .
Seriously, medi, if this is troubling you to the extent that you are posting about it, that it is keeping you awake at night, go see your GP about it. (I know, I know, you wanted OTHER opinions.) What's the worst he/she can do? Get an xray? Refer you to an OrthoDude who will THEN get an xray (or perhaps an MRI)?
The important thing is to resolve the pain for good, my friend.
You've faced bigger challenges than this.
I am enduring PT right now, medi, and, yeah, it does suck, but I know that it will be good for me in the long run (what doesn't kill me probably missed by just an inch ).
Take care, my friend,

Ya gotta go....
Sorry sweetie but I agree with Joe, go see your GP. It is probably something quite simple but why deal with the pain or take a chance of injuring your arm further by continuing to work out at the gym. Any pain that keeps you awake at night is a pain that needs to be investigated....we need our sleep...LOL.
No one likes the tests but I'm sure as Joe said, they will only do an x-ray or possible an MRI. Those are some of the easiest tests, you know, you've been through all the others too!!
Take care of yourself and get your butt to the doctors.

Could be! What is weirder is that in February I will be spending a lot of quality time with the Oral Surgeon too.
Yeah, you are right, it is bugging me. I am not my usual bouncy self haha. I know I will end up going, just wanted to make sure...
Have a great weekend!

Ok my vote is in for the dr. visit. I fell last spring in a parking lot darn thing was still bothering me in Nov. I asked the onco about it she said she wasn't concerned GP said same thing. It made me feel better. They both said (with no Xray) I am aging and things take a little longer to heal. Going to the gym I probably kept re-injurying it.
What's the vote tally.
We want your easy happy go luck self back here.

Ditto and quadditto....
Hi Medi,
Have to agree with all....call the doc. I too had trouble with my left arm 2 years ago. In fact, it resulted in frozen shoulder after 3 months. I was referred to a PT who began treating me. After 2 weeks of no results she started looking at other areas. Long story short.....I had ruptured a disc in my cervical neck (my neck felt just fine) and it was pinching some nerves that go down to my arm. I had to have a discotomy and had a cadaver bone put in. I guess you just never know. If it were not for an observant PT, who knows how long I could have went before getting a proper dx. My GP was just giving me cortisone shots in the shoulder after an x-ray showed nothing. Something is causing your arm aggravation so pursue until you get to the bottom of it. Blessings to you Medi! don't wait
Hey Medi, my hubby had a back ache that started in Aug. of 2009 an figured it was from all the yard work he had done all summer. He finally went to the docter in Dec. had some disks that were eaten away and in January of 2010 was diagnosed with lung cancer with mets to the spine & brain. We were shocked. Well he had 10 radiation treatments to spine & brain. Then started chemo and only had 2 treatments when he had a rare side effect to Avastin and died on March 25, 2010. Not to scare you, but I always wonder if he would've gone sooner, if things would have turned out any different. Please don't wait!!

It was nothing that re-arranging my activities and Tiger-balm could not solve. Thanks for your replies; I felt 100% better just getting it off my chest!
Now on to look for something new to worry about...just kidding!
Have a great weekend

My husband had the same
My husband had the same thing, in his shoulder. It went on for months - and we spent a ton of money on MRI's, scans, physical therapy. Nothing helped. He went for two sessions of acupuncture, and the pain disappeared. That was about 6-7 years ago. It can't hurt to give it a try.0 -
no Lizzy Borden for me...medi_2 said:sorry to be such a pain in the neck but...

Hi All! Just got back from my follow up and the EKG came back good and I didn't tear my rotator cuff; just aggravated it (I'm good at aggravating things)so it is officially rotator cuff tendinitis and it was most likely caused by swinging up a heavy object repetitivley. Yes they are taking away my ax ;( (don't get excited boys, there are no strings on this ax). I didn't tell the Doc about the hatchet and machete and chain saw haha. Before you think I am nuts (I am) I heat my house with wood so these items are kind of essential. Now I am going to go read an article I found in the Docs office with the title: Anxiety is Good For You. I will make a report on that later.
THanks for listening everyone!
Cheers

I am a firm believer in acupuncture but unfortunately my insurance carrier is not...
Thanks anyway

Glad to hear everything checks out! Yep, swinging those axes can get pretty tough on a body. I also use wood to supplement and have found a young "Paul Bunyon" (neighborhood fella) that likes to help. Even though I am a young double nickle......prevention is a good policy. Takes too long to heal anymore! Again, glad that everything is looking good. Keep those blades sharpened Medi! Blessings....Cheryl0
