PET scan today

Welcome
Hi,
I ment to respond when you first posted your circumstances, but have been under the weather since Sunday..(feeling much better now). I have never had a PET scan, just Ct scans so far for me. Try not to get ahead of yourself until the results are in. It's hard to do, but it does no good to worry about something that hasn't been confirmed. I think the radiologists are just being as thourough<(sp?)as possible, wanting to cover all of the bases before sending you on your way. If you click on my picture you can read my "about me" page to see what my cancer story consists of. Please let us know the results of your scan and in the meantime I will keep you in my prayers with positive thoughts coming your way.
Best wishes...Sue.

Late welcome
Hi
I wanted to say welcome to our group too. This is a great bunch of friends that you can count on for kindess and support.
I have had Petscans, and I would agree with Sue, the techs are just being careful. Try not to worry to much, I know that is hard to do, but worry won't get the results to you any faster.
We will be waiting with you...

Fingers and toes crossed
We will all be waiting for the results with you.I had a pet scan way back and it was noted a dark area in the large intestine. I picked up the report ahead of my appointment. It was said to be unremarkable and unable to diagnose. It scared the heck out of me. I had to wait 5 days to see the Dr. I instead took the report to my gastro Dr. He looked at it and said its nothing to worry about. The intestine is always active and it was just movement going on. He said he sees it all the time in the reports. I wish they would try another way to word that stuff. John(FNHL-4-1A-5/10)0 -
Hi Kylanel
Hi Kylanel,
Try not to worry too much, everything that you're going through is scary and a lot to process. Everything and every word we hear can be blown up out of proportion, try to stay calm like all my friends said before you worrying won't get you the results any faster! When I get too anxious and nervous I will sit down and watch a movie or drink a chamomile tea to calm my nerves, just to get my mind off of whatever is bothering me. Do whatever it is that calms you or takes your mind off of the results for now. Take care of yourself.
Sincerely,
Liz0 -

Hi Everyone
Thanks for the mails. I appreciate each and everyone one of them. I am so glad there is a place to talk and be with people that understand. I have a super mom who is amazing and we live in the same house with my kids and husband so the support is here for me but hearing your stories and your advice helps as you have been through it and know what it feels like.
I let my doctor know they asked me to go in one more time and his secretary is trying to find out why as I am starting BEACOPP on Monday (standard baseline chemo) and if there is anything they need to let the Doctor know as it might affect the chemo.
So maybe they will get some results back today but definately tomorrow. It is my grandmothers 91 birthday today and my moms 64 birthday tomorrow so we are taking them out for tea and cake today. It is hard for me to sit still in one place for long at the moment and "pretend" to be involved - I am sure a lot of you feel like that when you are out with people?
Well take care and God bless all of you xx0 -

Kyla,
We all know exactly how you feel when you are with a crowd. You almost feel as though you are out of place. This stuff really changes everything doesn't it? Hang in there cause it will get better and believe it or not it will make you stronger. John0 -

Hi Kyla,
This period of time you are going through will be the hardest time and very stressful. Waiting for test results...waiting for treatment to start, etc, etc. Trying to join in on "normal" eveyday family functions is hard because we have so much hiden fear inside of us, which makes it hard to focus on other things. I'm so happy you have a great caring support system surrounding you, as it will make your cancer journey much easier to deal with. I feel so sorry for those that have to go through it on their own. Try to enjoy your family tea today, and "Happy Birthday" to your Grandmother. My dear Grandmother lived to be 99. Gramma's are very special people! Much love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -

Hi There everyone,
I got the results yesterday and my doctors office phoned and his lovely secretary told me to come and see him at 3 so that I could have a peaceful weekend.
The test showed up no other area where the cancer had spread so it is just in my neck and that has already shrunk a bit from the one chemo treatment my doctor gave me in hospital when I was just diagnosed, He did that so that the mass could reduce and stop constricting the veins to my head.
I feel relieved and happy and hopeful and happy and I praise God that it has not spread. Not in my lungs or in my kidneys or anywhere else!!! Hallelujah!
It was my moms birthday yesterday and she just cried from joy. She has been my rock! Amazing women.
Now I start Chemo on Tuesday and my doctor said he might only give me 2 rounds of the intermediate BEACOPP and then the rest will be standard BEACOPP so that is good news. Please keep praying for me and thank you all for you advice and words of wisdom.

Hi Kylanel,
Thank God that it was nothing worse! Keeping you in my prayers, I actually wanted to share something that I read from a fellow board member. While I was reading what he wrote it just made a lot of sense to me and hopefully these words will help you in your journey. "Each day is a blessing" we have to be grateful for everyday we are alive. Hopefully they'll help you when you're feeling down, enjoy each day like their is no tomorrow! Take care of yourself and sending you a warm hug from TX.
Sincerely,
