I had NO side effects from Neulasta. Hope you don't have any either.

Hi
The first time I had chemo it was a strong cocktail, dose dense adriamycin with cytoxan and an added dose of avastin all 3)ever other week. I was put into a clinical trial.
Many drugs were given so that nausea did not even occur thank goodness. Emend, decadron and others too.
My white cell count dropped by the next infusion so I was given neulasta injections day after every infusion. These hurt and I was told by the charge nurse to take plain old claritan allergy pill the day before , day after and then the next and I never had pain from neulasta at all. That was a great tip for me.
Good luck.
Hope it helps

Good to know that your chemotaiga said:Everything went fine
Thank you for all your suggestions and support. I started my Zofran last evening and religiously take it every 6 hours. I do have to get a Neulasta shot later today and I started Alleve last evening. I'll try that and see how it works, but will definitely keep the Claritin around.
When the pharmacist was in discussing the chemo drugs, she told me that if I did as well as I did with IP Cisplatin, this regime would be very tolerable for me. Her real concerns were with hand/foot syndrome - the blistering and peeling, and the mouth sores.
So I was very happy I had no weird reactions where they had to call the EMTs. That happended to the lady sitting next to me on my first day of chemo with ovarian - and she was getting Taxol, what I was scheduled to get. Not a good way to start off!
Good to know that your chemo went well for you Taiga!

Hi there, I realize that
Hi there, I realize that you've already had your 1st treatment. Hope that went well for you. I am currently on Taxotere & Cytoxan, 4 rounds every 3 wks. I just had my 3rd treatment four days ago. This time I took the Claritin & Aleve for bone pain due to the Neulasta shot for white blood cell production on the day of the shot rather than wait for it to "hit". I was miserable from the Neulasta the first two times. I have since taken each of those OTC's every morning. My bone pain has been significantly less this time. As for nausea, very little. Hair loss, horrifying for me. I lost almost all of it in one day (16 days after 1st treatment). I'm only 48 so I don't know if it affects older women differently or not. Probably it's just me, but I did not handle it well at all! Now I'm just pushing through til I can have my life AND my hair back. My very best to you dear lady. God bless you.0 -

Good luck tomorrow. I had 2 of the meds that you will be on, but I don't know anything about the others. I hope this chemo is tolerable & you have an easy time.
Hugs & God Bless,
