Thoughts & Prayers,
John
John,
Yes, they took 5 inches of small intestine and had clear margins. They also removed and biopsied 5 lymph nodes which were NED. Concern is how it grew to tumor size in the 2/3 months since the last scan. Head neck doc said it could have been sitting there dormant for years. Just one of those cancer cells we all have that opted to multiply.
Thanks for your thoughts,

Cool, so hopefully they got everything...when do they plan on doing additional scans or are they planning any additional treatment?
I tend to feel that more than likely it isn't related to any H&N disease from before...of course I'm no MD.
SCC is a soft tissue cancer, so I presume, that having it appear internally is not that uncommon.
Hopefully it was just a freak and with the scans you routinely have it was pickied up.
On that same token, if it weren't for the scan regime you are on, it could have very well not been detected so early.
Best,
