Heeran's mom
Hi Sal, I have been thinking about them also and wondering how they are doing. We were to meet with her during her wait during the surgery, but our appointment was about 2 1/2 hours late at the same facility, and by the time I called she didn't answer. I have left 2 voicemails, so hopefully she will have some time to post or call soon. I, too, hope all is going well. Linda0 -

Hi guys,
Sorry it took so long. It's been a long 72 hours. Mom had surgery on Thursday with Dr. George Dittrich at Methodist hospital. He did MIE Ivor Lewis. Surgery took 3 1/2 hours but she had some trouble in the recovery room so we didn't get to see her until many hours later. We were on pins and needles but the doc stated the surgery went well. She's had some trouble with mucous being stuck and she had trouble coughing and her temp went up 2am yesterday. Everything has worked itself out and she's on epidermal medicine right now but they are reducing it tomorrow. She has chronic back pain so the epidermal is controlling the pain in her back as well. The night before surgery, we were so nervous, none of us slept. Plus, she really thought she was going to die in surgery. She said her goodbyes and the night before, we were running around getting updated will, advance directive, etc. settled because we couldn't find her old attorney.
I'm in her room right now and she's looking great for what she just went through. Now I just hope all of the lymph nodes they are testing come back negative. Thanks to everyone on this site for being so supportive. I have no idea how I would have gotten through this without the friends on this board. Thank you thank you thank you.0 -

Heeran:
You make me smile when you say "she's looking great"...
Please give mom a hug from the not-so-newbie's-anymore. She is real champion to hold strong like this.
We continue our prayers for your mom and each of you and wishing for a speedy recovery for her.
Peace,
Judy & Don0 -

Hi Heeran I have followed your mum's journey from day 1 and can't tell you how happy I am that she is now looking good after her surgery. Your mind must be so much easier now. I wish your mum a speedy and as trouble free recovery as is possible.

I'm so glad that the time for surgery is behind you now. Let the healing begin Really glad you think your mom is looking great considering what she's just been through. She must be a strong woman - like her remarkable daughter
Prayers are with you for continued healing. I hope her discomfort is minimal. Rest while you can. There is still a journey ahead of you both.
Love & Hugs,
Terry0
