Cardiac Toxicity after treatment with 5FU
Has anyone else had this rare side effect?
After how many treatments?
Was the drug regime changed?
Is it worth continuing chemo if the doctors can't tell me if it will happen again or that it won't be more serious next time and cause damage to my heart?
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Jude

Dr. Ralph Moss
You may want to read his book Questioning Chemotherapy or search his website www.cancerdecisions.com
And yes, 5-FU can cause permanent heart and/or kidney damage as well as peripheral neuropathy, secondary cancers, chemo-induced leukemia among other things.
