I'm wondering why
Dear Sarah
I'm wondering why Topotecan & not Gemzar? I was told Gemzar had a better response rate than Topotecan.
All that being said, Gemzar is a major butt-kicker. Good luck with your next round of chemo...hopecully, 2012 will be a better year for you. -

needing a break
I can totally relate.... I started chemo January 2010 for my 1st recurrance. I started on carbo/taxol, then doxil, then carbo/gemzar... until I became allergic to the carbo. I was then put on cisplatin/gemzar and guess what?... my numbers are coming down after all this time. I'm thinking that those beastly little cells are throwing their arms up and crying "Uncle". I hope this is the cocktail that will do it for you. Hang in there.

I come from the UK where there is possibly less choice than in the US, unless perhaps you pay for treatment privately. He just said my next chemo if I wanted to carry on with treatment was Topotecan.
