Ca 125 raised, again
By waiting my body can continue to recover from the last sessions of chemo. I asked about the " film" spreading in the abdomen. He said " yes" it does happen. He said eventually it would show on the CAT scan, or cause symptoms. He said unfortunately the symptoms of recurrence are "no symptoms".
So far the next 6 weeks I will "live large" and enjoy each day. My husband and I are going on a15 day cruise through the Panama Canal leaving Dec 6.
We are looking forward to the cruise. I am feeling good, so it should be a fun time. Seeing more places that I never thought I would see.
All of my "sisters" on this board remain in my prayers. In peace and caring.

Ro,
Sorry to hear about the rise in the CA125...BUT happy you are getting to go on such an amazing adventure...I hear the way the ship backs into the canal is awesome!
Take lots of pics, and enjoy every moment !
Try to forget the world back here and deal with the medical crap when you return.
Keeping you close in thoughts and prayers...

Oh, Ro, I am sorry you had
Oh, Ro, I am sorry you had to get this news before the holidays - but that cruise sounds awesome. So live large, symptom-free, and ENJOY!
My ca 125 was over a thousand back in June, it dropped into 300s after radiation to some of issues, not sure where it is at right now. I will be doing lab and scans in January as well to see what is happening. With no significant issues to deal with i am putting off any treatment until January so I can enjoy as well.
It sounds like you have been having some wonderful adventures this year!
Here's to a delightful cruise!

Sorry to hear, Ro
Sorry to hear your news about your rising C125 levels, Ro. But so pleased that you have no symptoms. But it's "good" news (if there is such a thing for chemo!) that you are platinum sensitive and therefore the cisplatin/taxol combo is still open to you - it's powerful stuff and I'm sure it will send those numbers tumbling down!
The cruise sounds wonderful - I have always wanted to go through the Panama canal (and I will do it, one day!). I do hope you both have a fantastic time.
You're in my thoughts and prayers

I am so glad you will have 6 wonderful weeks of "living large"....enjoy!!! Keeping you and all the other ladies here in my prayers.
I think the numbers are hard for us. You have always moved forward. There is an article in Science Magazine for recurrence and they use a platinum drug and gemzar with good results. I've had good results with gemzar. Love your cruise. Remember there are other options. There is also another test that helps identify which chemo does best for you, it is called Caris. It is very expensive but sometimes the company does for free for advertisement.

Ro - unhappy about the rise in number but so happy for you and that cruise which is on my bucket list!
Cynthia Rose, I have had recurrence as others here have had. I just continue to march on each day with total appreciation for life, my friends, and loved ones. I would encourage you and your mom to do your very best to not get too far ahead of yourselves with worry - it sure doesn't do anything to help us and makes us miserable in the meantime. I think seeking counseling for yourself is a great idea. There is so much stress that we deal with. I hope the holidays bring you and your family happy distractions.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts and support. Diane I tried to look up Caris, but could not find any information. Is there something else to look under?
We leave tomorrow for our cruise, so I will be gone for a while. Hope everyone does well while I am gone. In peace and caring.0 -

Ro,
So sorry to hear your CA125 is up again; but maybe it's a response to some inflammation or some other phenomenon in your body rather than sign of recurrence.
I agree with the others: Go off and enjoy yourself to the HILT!
Love,
Rosey R0
