Update on mom ... Tarceva or Afatinib?

Hi everybody, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 non small cell lung cancer a couple of months ago. Since then we found out that she has the EGFR mutation, so now she has to decide between the FDA approved Tarceva knowing all of the risks and side effects or a new drug that is only a couple of years old and not FDA approved known as Afatinib(BIBW 2992). I was just wondering if anyone has any advice I can give my mom about these? Has anyone on here been on the Afatinib? I have seen topics about Tarceva but not that one. So far she has gone through 2 chemo sessions and the tumor in her lung has not shrunk or grew at all but they want her to decide between these two treatments ASAP.

I hope you are all doing well.
