Hi Denise.
Not sure but I think sonogram and ultrasound are the same thing. This is done with sound waves? No tunnel, just gel on your body for the transducer.
Cat Scan is the one that looks like a big donut. Easy and fast.
MRI is the dreaded tube. Magnetic Residence Imaging....I know the "R" word is wrong but close.
I think the CT is the one with the most radiation so the other two are safer for that but each one has it's place for different images.
CT and MRI actually show images like slices for a better picture.
Hope this helps but like I say, not 100% sure.

Wanda is pretty much right on the money. Sono/ultrasound are the same (It's the same thing they use to see a baby)...Magnetic Resonance Imaging (close enough) is a "tube". The CT is the donut thing. CT are better for bony structures. MRI is better for soft tissue. CT is much faster (a couple minutes).0
