Finally some good news!!
We went to Goshen (Care House) on Mon. Nov 14th to 'prepare' for the surgery on Tues. morning. Things went good....better then good actually! Although I slept most of the day I do remember my oncology surgeon saying "We didn't find any cancer! No radiation needed!"! They did remove the tumor with surrounding tissue. To be sure they were correct, they had pathology double-check on Wed. So after a long night waiting...praying noon would hurry up (when the final results would be in!). My dr checked on me at 8am. (pain med wearing off...felt like a truck ran over me!) Then at 10am here comes my dr to tell hubby & me "No cancer so no radiation!". But they did find some dysplasia so will need to keep a close watch on that. I'll go for follow-up Nov 30th. Then every 3 months for the 1st year for a simple scope check (not sure med term! heehee).
So now at home healing & resting to get stronger. Very uncomfortable, feeling the stitches poking (& feeling like maybe got a corn cob up my arse! hahaha!). Can only lay or lean which makes sitz baths alittle difficult (but doable). No special diet but lots of fluids & watching my food intake.
Thanksgiving will be quiet with just me & hubby...but we are feeling very blessed.
