Taxol/Gemzar - side effects, how quickly hair loss?

Tina has already said that Gemzar is new and hold promise as a treatment. I'm not worrying at this stage. I'm not worried either about losing my hair but I'd like to be prepared not to find it coming out suddenly all over my face like it happened last time (on Carbo/Taxol). I'd rather have it cut off before then. I just don't know how quickly to do that.
Love to all,
AussieMaddie

Hu AussieMaddie I started
Hi AussieMaddie
I started Gemzar/Carbo in June and my hair started to come out more or less straight away. I finished treatment in August (could not complete full protocol because of low blood counts) and it is now November and my hair is STILL coming out in small amounts. My hair is VERY VERY thin and it was nearly bald on top but at least it did not come out completely but then I did not lose it all with carbo/taxol either - it was a lot thinner then.

Taxol usually makes your hair fall out in about 14 days. That was my experience, too. -

Thank you to you both Tasgirl and LaundryQueen.
I was interested to know. Sounds like I'll be having my head shaved bald again like I did on Carbo/Taxol. Not to matter. So far, I've had one treatment of the Taxol/Gemzar. Not hair falling out yet, but as soon as I see it happening, will go for the bald look. I have plenty of scarves and hats which were made for me
Take good care,
AussieMaddie
