maybe because he was very low risk. What was his Gleason and PSA pre surgery??
Prior to surgery he was Gleason 6 with PSA 4.82, staged T1c. Post surgery pathology indicates positive margins, still Gleason 6 (I question that) and stage T2c. I'm concerned the surgeon should have taken the lymph nodes knowing now what he knows (more serious).0 -

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I understand your concerns with positive margins. Did you by chance have a second opinion on the initial biopsy before surgery. Also, could you share more of the initial diagnosis? Why did you feel surgery was your best option?
Best to you and welcome to the board.

I am two years post davinci Gleason 7 (4+3) and also have a positive margin. They will most likely test your husbands psa more frequently. I started every 3 months, then 6 months and have now been moved to yearly check.
If you do not have it get and read Dr. Patrick Walsh's guide on surviving prostate cancer.
He has some excellent remarks on positive margins. In his research he has seen no difference in a wait and see approach with the positive margin or starting follow up radiation immediately.
Best wishes and try not to worry.

I just got my results from the final Biopsy. My initial biopsy I was a 3+4 with only one side showing cancer. Now there was a a second nodule on the other side and a 4+3. However, this was from a different lab that tends to over compenste. That said I went from a T1c to a T2c. I had no prostatic extension clean margin and clean lymph nodes and no vascular invasion. I was PNI posative as indicated by my biopsy. Yes there should have been lymph glands taken. They can go back in to do it. I would question the doctor and request it. Especially since he had posative margins.0 -
