Yes!
I am taking full advantage of being on a "chemo break". I flew to Edinburgh for my eldest's 21st birthday. And flew my younger son over from NYC as a birthday surprise. And two of my best friends have come up to Edinburgh to see me for a few days. Yesterday I climbed up 'Arthur's Seat" (hill in Edinburgh). It was a little tough for me, but I DID IT -- and the view was amazing. I am on cloud nine!! Can't stop grinning.

Yesterday I took the girls
Yesterday I took the girls shopping and my husband stayed home. He texted me and said there was a boy at our house with all his belongings and no place to go. I called home and found out that a boy from my 16 year old daughter's special education class was kicked out of his house and he had no where to go. I called the aunt/guardian of this 18 year old special needs boy and she said he wouldn't listen to their rules so they weren't taking him back. I asked her what we should do and she said put him out on the street. I explained to her that there was no way he could stay at our house because of the daughter but I wasn't putting him out on the street. She said they would come and get him. In the meantime, my husband fed him apple dumplings and ice cream and explained to him that he would need to apologize to his aunt/uncle/guardians and start following their rules. We thought everything was over and my husband and I went to a birthday party. We got a call later from our daughter saying this boy called and said he was at the hospital because he had no where to go. That sent us on a search to the hospital, county home, and sheriff Dept. We found out the aunt/uncle dropped him off at the County home but the County home wouldn't take him because he wasn't processed. He walked to the Sheriff's Dept. and a preacher was there who bought him a meal and put him up in a hotel for a couple nights until he can be processed into the County home. My husband is so upset and feels like he let this boy down. We barely know this boy and just can't take him in without it having a negative impact on our own children. I realize how fortunate we are. The worst thing in the world may not be dying but living in a world where not one other person cares about you. Lisa0 -
Visiting
I spent the week visiting my daughter and grandson! My son in law is in Korea for the week. We spent yesterday at the train museum in Golden Colorado! My grandson, Malachi, LOVES trains! This is my last day visiting - I woke up at four and I can't sleep and can't wait 'til the boog wakes up so we can play trains and eat cereal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and macky cheese together (with my daughter ofc)!0 -
