Glad you have your teeth...I have Dentures on top and have had them for 2 years plus...I am still adjusting...I feellike I am gagging. I use Seafoam Pads as my teeth do not fit as well as they should, but I don't wear them unless I am leaving the house...my BAD. I have tried Poiligrip and do not like it but it sure makes them stick..Bob should be getting his teeth in a month or so as soon as the Medical review Board decides if it is Cancer related and should be paid by Medical not Dental....they got the Dr's note in May...put it in his File and I have called 3 times and they always say oh I will get it to the medical review Board today....called 2 days ago now they need all his Medical Record's to decide...May....it is now November...I just don't get it he had perfect teeth pre Cancer....good luck with your new teeth and keep them in, don't be like me...glad your teeth look good mine do too. There is a man at Bob's work who has teeth that look like Chicklet's I like the way mine look they have shaved off what they can but I must have a extreme gag reflex as many day's on the way to work I am gagging because it hits so far back on my pallete perhaps if I wore them more I would get used to them....0 -

Thanks for this info. If it should come to it, it is great to know that I will have some serious questions for folks about grip, about fitting, and maybe most important, about gagging. As of now, my teeth are fine with the exception of one that is now like a fang, probably from a lot gnashing and gritting and so forth.
I am wondering if I will be able to eat better if I have a new set of choppers, although I suspect the shorter tongue will continue to play a part.
Appreciate the data from both of you.
Take care,

Congratulations Denis on your new teeth. I am sure in no time you will be feeling like they are your own.
smile big for everyone and enjoy the new normal

I think the fang comes from gnashing your teeth over how a chord sequence goes in a Queen song Joe, or maybe the licks in Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe. Seriously, I have a little problem with the gagging, but they told me to come in if that was happening and they would shorten the top plate, so tomorrow will do that, but I am tickled pink that I finally got them after all the crap I went through for Medicare to pay for the surgery.0 -

So happy you are finally sorted out after all you have been through, Denis.0 -
Hi Denistd
Glad to hear you got the new chopper in, I guess like with everything you just need to get use to the newness. I am still waiting on my dentist to call me back with a plan, so far I heard nothing from him. But that does not surprise me as every dentist so far has said there is nothing that can do to help me, at lease this guy is willing to try.
Take care

Been a tough week with the pearly's, apparently the HBO made my gums shrink way to well, dentist said that normally it takes six months for the gums to stop shrinking. My new teeth have already gotten loose, I keep them in though. The soreness is there where the acrylic rubs against the gums but that will get better, can't eat with them as I can't bite down, they become loose. I am having them realigned and fitted again on Thursday. My tongue is totally confused and complains all the time, it does not know whats stopping it from wandering the way it used to, it stays tucked up behind the top teeth, when I drink I have to stick my tongue out a bit and help the fluids to the back of my throat. All of this will soon be history. Thank the Lord for the HBO, my gums healed better than anyone thought. Denis0 -

Sound like fun learning how to use a set of chopper all over again, nothing like the real thing, but better then nothing at all.
Watch out you don’t bite your tongue, Ha ha ha
