Tom's little buddy Darcee was put to sleep this morning.
Our blue merle boys are confused but they sleep on my bed so they are with Mommy. Red is now taking over with Tom.
It was a sad day for our family to say good bye to her.

The loss of a pet hits as hard as a human family member.
I feel your sorrow. Give the blues an extra scratch for me.

Jan,
Our dogs are our family and so sorry Tom and you have lost your little heart dog. They give such unconditional love and I think they are part of our healing process. You loved your dog so well, how many of us have brought a pup into the world and are there to say goodbye. take care,

Very sorry for your loss. Our furbabies are really part of the family and they leave a big void in our heart.
Hugs,
Julie
To lose a pet that is so near and dear to you is so difficult.
My thoughts are with you and your family (other animals included.)0 -
So sorry
Jan,
So sorry to hear this news, I know how important your four legged friends are to you and your husband, a true extension of the family. I am certain that your sweet girl Darcee is frolicking along at the rainbow bridge. I once read a very sweet story about a little boy who asked his dad why dogs lives are so much shorter than humans. The fathers response was that life is about learning to love those around you and accept people and situations for what they are, to find joy in every mundane moment. Dogs are born as joyful and accepting creatures....they don't need as much time as the rest of us. I think that pretty much sums up our dogs and I am sure the many other dogs that are helping other EC families cope with the day to day.
Hugs,

I'm so sorry to ready about
I'm so sorry to ready about your dog. Last weekend, we were at Myrtle Beach when the kids called and said our 13 year old cat couldn't move her back legs. They called the vet and when he didn't call back, they took her to the ER where tbey said she had a blood clot and suggested they put her to sleep. She was pretty much already gone and it was the right thing to do. We felt so bad because we were out of town when it happened. Our pets really do become a part of the family.0 -

Glad your kids were able to take care of the cat's needs in your absence. It's a difficult thing to have to put an animal down. But yet it is (to me) more humane that what we ask of our aged and infirm.
Again, condolences on your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Darcee. Losing a pet is one of the hardest things we will ever have to face. Words can't even say how sad I am for you.
My deep, sincere condolences,
