Getting ready for the party!
Just an update. This time last week I was really struggling to help Jeff feel better, chemo was kicking his butt! In the past week he has been started on daily hydration and we are using a feeding pump at night for added calories. Also there was a switch in his nausea meds. What the difference a week makes!! As I have said before Jeff and I are complete Halloweenies, he has been working on his costume all week in between infusions We are going to a party/concert tonight, it was our goal event for after surgery, we bought the tickets two weeks before surgery. It is a tribute to Led Zeppelin (Jeff's all time favorite band), he is going as Jimmy Page!! I am going as a devil (not as creative). We may not party all night, but we are going to party for as long as he wants. I am beyond proud of him, I know that he went through all of this for not only himself but for me as well and our life together.
A while before surgery I had read a post Olya (archtb) posted about her husband Tom. At 8 weeks past surgery they went to a U2 concert, I thought that was amazing and that he must be one tough dude. I am happy to say that Jeff is a little under 8 weeks past surgery (Nov 6th is 8 weeks) and we are also going to a concert. He is my tough dude!! To all of you who have been newly diagnosed and are face with the decision of surgery, there is life after surgery! Jeff is not 100% yet, but I am amazed at the progress he has made. He has gone from it being a challenge to make one lap around the ICU wing, to getting ready to dance the night away! And as others have said on here before, it is two steps forward one step back.....always focus on those two steps forward.
Love and hugs to all of my online friends

Good Times Bad Times!
Niki,
OMG I am so happy that you are going out tonight for your favorite holiday, what a difference a week makes!
I am so happy that Jeff has turned the corner to feeling better, hydration and nutrition makes such a difference.
My first slow dance (in 10th grade) was to Stairway to Heaven, OMG the dance lasted forever LOL!
Have fun
I am so happy; you made my night (I am sitting on the couch watching football) LOL
Have FUN!
Love you both

ZEPPELIN ROCKS!!!
What's a ZEPPELIN concert without the DEVIL present???
SO glad to hear you two are doing so well, and especially Jeff!!
Keep up those spirits and the party attitude.

Awesome night!!
Hey everyone,
The new pic is from last night, we had a GREAT time!! The concert was awesome and Jeff was able to stay the whole time and dance a little too
They played one of my favorite LZ songs last night and it seemed very fitting for what many couples are facing on this board on a daily basis. Thought I would share the lyrics here:
Thank You - Led Zeppelin
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
when mountains crumble to the sea, there would still be you and me.
Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
Our love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my.
Inspiration's what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.
And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more be sad, happiness....I'm glad.
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
If the mountains should crumble to the sea, there would still be you and me.

Looks like a great night! So glad you guys didn't have to cut it short
That is a wonderful song. And you're right - it does fit here. Never thought of it like that.
Congratulations to you both. Last night was another WIN over EC.
