Believe it or not this is an old 1882 steam engine train that was retired from the US and giving to Honduras by the United Fruit Company back in 1940. The train worked for the next 40 years or so hauling Bananas from the local farms to the port of Cortes. It then was used for a few more years until they finally retired it in 1990 is now a part of the central park Museum in La Ceiba

You do need to relax a bit, I think. But now, I'm going to sound like your mom. You cannot tell me that there are no healthy food options for you to choose from?? Even at McDs, there are low fat and non fried options to choose from. I worked there and ate there twice a day for 7.5 years and maintained my weight. I ate egg mcmuffins, fruit and yogurt parfaits, grilled chickens, salads with no or very little dressing, their vanilla ice cream (which is reduced fat 2% milk) fruit and walnut salads, apple dippers, and occasionally double cheese burgers or filets of fish. Look for vegetarian or fresh fruit and vegetable options in the cafeterias. Think about cooking or making your own food. Diet is a big part of staying healthy, and acid reflux and heart burn, are not good for your esophogus in the long run.
I love Japanese curry. Lol. I still by blocks of S&B Golden Curry mix (mild tho, no hot stuff for me) Nom nom nom.
Double Fish with Cheese.....
How come you can ask for these and get them at all McD, but they aren't on the menu?

We used to have them at Lent. They would promote them then. Even if they took the key away, you could always ring it as a filet extra meat add cheese.0 -

I didn't even know they existed until recently...a friend turned me on to them.
I'm not a big McDonald's fan, other than Sausage Egg McMuffins. I do like those.. especially when they're on sale for a $1.00 each, LOL.
But I do like and order the Double Filet-O-Fish with Cheese....

Just wanted to drop in an update:
I went to the ENT today for a follow up and to get the ultrasound results.
Anyway, he felt my neck again and said that he thought that it got a bit smaller and that was good. That's relieving except I'm not really sure how he can tell just by feeling, especially since a week has past since he last felt it. He said ultrasound seems fine. No antibiotics for me, just start a better sleep schedule and drink fluids.
The report is a bit boggling though, so could someone help me decipher what it might mean in layman's terms?
"The symptomatic area is located at the submandibular region around the angle of right mandible. There is a well defined hypoechoic nodular lesion found underlying the symptomatic area. This is not found within the right parotid or in right submandibular gland. Hyperechogenic area is found within it. The echopattern of this lesion is suggestive of a lymph node. However the cortex is thickened. This is about 1.8cm x 1.1cm x 2.1cm in size. Similar but smaller lesions are found at the similar area on the left side. They are up to 2cm x 0.8cm in size.
Promiment cervical lymph nodes are also found on right side. They are up to 2cm x 0.7cm in size.
Bilateral parotid glands and submandibular glands are of normal size and of normal echopattern. There is no intraglandular lesion. No sialectasis or sialolithiasis are found in the parotid gland or submandibular gland on both sides.
Comment:
The sympomatic area is located around the angle of right mandible. There is a nodular lesion with echopattern suggestive of lymph node found underlying the symptomatic area. It is not within the right parotid gland or submandibular gland. It is suggestive of an enlarged lymph node. Similar but smaller lymph nodes are found on the left side. They are suggestive of possible reactive inflammatory lymph nodes."
Anyway, I think the lymph node is getting smaller, though I can't be sure and don't want to touch it. Been adjusting my sleep schedule and trying to eat a bit healthier. If this is some infection/virus hopefully it'll be out of my system soon. Much more relaxed now and happy, but still a bit antsy about waiting0 -
My 2 cents worth
Yes...acid reflux can cause your lymph nodes to swell. Let me explain. I too suffer from the mysterious lump (for the past 6 months). Your doctor said it may be acid reflux or stress. How about acid reflux AND stress.
I had two lump sensations in my throat. One was the neck tightening caused by stress (work, school, kids, the world) and the other (acid reflux) caused swelling and mucous in my throat...the silent reflux that feels like a fine mist of pepper being sprayed in your throat. These little droplets of acid from the stomach (caused by stress, being overweight, or hunched over a computer all day) shoot all the way into the nasal cavity simulating an allergy type reaction, like a stuffy nose and nasal drip. On some occasions I believe bacteria may get all the way in there and cause infection, thus swollen lymph nodes, ringing ears. The more I worried about it, the worse it got.
My throat tightening sensation has subsided as my husband has provided nightly neck massages and some zen music on the side. Now I only deal with the silent reflux, which I think is still partially stress related, since I am still in school, and over worked on my job (Maybe next semester will be better).
Some things that help is exercise daily, surround yourself with positive thoughts, pace your work load, keep Pepcid Complete or Alka Seltzer in arms reach for emergencies, keep a food/stress journal for personal analysis as swelling can also be food allergy related. I try not to eat after 7:00 and I drink the stinky Valerian root Tea an hour before bed to help me sleep. Lack of sleep on top of stress = more stress.
Hope I was helpful.0
