Wasted worries!
I spent the week between 2 sisters and 1 brother (he took off work on Monday and we spent it on Balboa Island) and their families. I had fun, gained 4 pounds. With the chair I was able to shop, but as usual I overdid and my back feels like I was run over by a mac truck. I hated to say no to anything because who knows when I will get back to So. California again, I think I need to learn limits! (I laugh as this has always been me).
My daughter-in-law met me on the 4th day and we stayed for 4 nights in Dana Point (had to hit Johns Fish Market). Of course it was overcast the whole time, and as we were loading our luggage to go home a little after noon on Thursday, the sun came out. I was laughing. We had plenty of sun inland, and the first 2 days in San Diego were beautiful. I got to go with my sister and niece for first fitting of niece's wedding dress, she is 5'10" and is wearing 5" heals. My feet hurt thinking about it, but it was like being at 'Say Yes to the Dress".
Came home, and saw snow in the coming week, so maybe I went a week too early!
Went bare headed and loved it. Have about 3/4 of an inch of hair on top (with a few bald spots), and a good 1 1/2 inched in the back and didn't even care!
Now it is back to the onco on Wednesday for blood work, bone shot, and port flush. Planning on putting off scans for another month. I know how I feel and don't want to know what the tests will reveal... also have the funeral on 14th of November and I want to feel good when all 10 of my brothers and sisters are together. Which means No Chemo! This is the 4th time in 20 years that we will all be together and they have all been for funerals or illness prior to the funeral.
I still say all of you are the greatest support group that any bc sister or brother could have.
Hugs, Carol

in So Cal with your siblings. It must feel good to feel good. Why does chemo have to make us feel like crap, anyway? Isn't it supposed to make things better?
So nice to hear another positive post.

Ah... Carol so wonderful to
Ah... Carol so wonderful to hear you had such a good time visiting family in California! I loved your descriptions of your stay and the things you did. Thank you for giving us a sneak peek on how things went on your vacation. The funeral/reunion will be a bitter sweet gathering for you all. So glad you all will be at the same place for a spell.
Thank goodness you'll be off of chemo long enough for you to meet up with family come November. And so glad to hear your chair is working out for you. Keep going Carol, you're doing great!
Mounds of Love to You.

I'm so happy all those worries turned into a wonderful time! I would have overdone it and come home aching too, and also would have decided it was worth the aches. Your joy and happiness shine through, thanks for sharing it with us.

Today I went to the onco, will do the scans in December which means no chemo till at least Christmas time. I do have bronchitis, hopefully that is all the cough is, so on another round of antibiotics and got the Xgeva shot and blood work. Had to use tps or tsp (i call it draino) to clear out the port again. So taking it easy for a bit to feel better.
Linda, you are right, I would do it the same way if I went back today. I feel my days are numbered and I am going to live each day that I am given, even if it hurts:), (as soon as I get the strength back to do something. (smiling)
Love and prayers,

I do feel so lucky when I open my eyes in the morning. Or maybe blessed is the right word. My boys are so patient and still make fun of me, so I know that they still see me as mom, not as mom with cancer!
That alone is a blessing and allows us to have fun together!
And you really are so giving and positive with your words. It would be so nice to meet everyone in person!
