    She was such a comfort to me when both my parents passed away, and I couldn't get off the couch (she laid next to me constantly) and then when I was diagnosed and went through surgery and treatment.
    Now, it is my turn to comfort her, and let her days be happy and comfortable. It is too invasive to treat at her age. So sad~
    ~On the other hand, my daughter has moved home from college, and brought with her a 2 year old Lab mix "pup" that she rescued. He (Duke) has such a joyful personality, always ready to play, greeting us at the door with a ball in his mouth, willing to sit, shake and speak for a milkbone~ and he has been so tender with tootsie, they nuzzle and when she feels up to it even play a little bit~
    They sure are a part of the family~
