Encouraging visit with my Onc on Friday
I also saw the nurse on Friday for the first open wound cleaning...it was more than I expected. Basically anything that isn't pink/red has to come out. It didn't hurt, but I was sore after. My hubby did really well, and he's done his first cleaning and packing last night. He'll be an expert soon!
Hugs,
Linda

Yippee! This all sounds great--carry on with the good work! You might take pain meds about 1/2 hour before the wound cleanings. That may help a lot with the post dressing soreness. (((Hugs)))
Not everyone can handle that kind of "stuff". And Great news about the nodes. Keep hanging in there! -

Hi Linda -- You have a wonderful partner. I'm very happy for you. Glad you're getting some good news from your Dr. I suggest taking pain killers before too, it helped me during treatments and felt a difference. Taking one day at a time as we all know it. We'll continue with our prayers.
Feel better soon. -

Making Progress
Hi Linda,
I am so pleased that you had such encouraging news to share with us. Half the number of oncologist visits, few cancer cells in the lymph nodes and a spouse who is a soon-to-be expert in wound cleaning and packing - what more could you ask right now? You sound like you are in good spirits. Keep it up. All the pinks are rooting for you.
