Just a short note to thank everyone for their prayers and support. I was released from the hospital last night after my 2nd small intestine surgery within the past month. I have started catching up reading posts.......ERICA AN JOHN.......CONGRATULATIONS ON JOHNS FOLLOWUP. I REJOICE WITH YOU.

I thought my ordeal was winding down but appears to be just another start over again. When I went for this last surgery, they told me I had a severe heart attack and gave me about a 40% chance of surviving the surgery. Turned out that the heart attack was caused by stopping my Plavix (Blood Thinner) before my first surgery at Moffit.

In any case I did survive with a new list of scheduled followups, to include a pathology review. Seems that the cancer Brandon Regional found was a primary cancer of the pancreas rather than the esophagus.

I think everything is really a moot point at this time since any type of cancer running wild in the abdominal cavity can't be good.

I'll take it one day at a time, trust in the Lord and end enjoy as much time as I can with with my wonderful family. I'll post more detailed information when I get a little more strength back.

So glad you are back home again
    Michael,

I am so glad to hear you are back home again. You certainly have my admiration. You are one strong person, both physically and spiritually.

I hope they were able to keep the Wound Vac you had while in the hospital. I wore one for about six weeks after I got out of the hospital from my Ivor Lewis surgery. I got an infection in both of my large incisions and they had to be re-opened to heal properly. The Wound Vac did wonders in accelerating the healing and preventing further infection. Having the dressings changed can be somewhat painful because of the vacuum that the machine creates but a skilled and patient nurse can make it much more palatable. I hope you have effective pain management.

You are in my prayers daily. May you heal quickly and have quality time with your family.

    Best Regards,

    Welcome home, Michael!
I'm so pleased you've been released from the hospital and are back home with your family. You're daughters are wonderful! They have been so kind to keep us up-to-date with your situation.

Bless you for all you are going through. I can't imagine a heart attack on top of what you are already dealing with and now a new cancer? Glad God has placed you with quality medical care and a strong family. This new turn of events will take a strong team - and you got that in spades!

Our prayers are with you, Michael!

    Thank You Michael!
    Michael,
So happy you are home with your family. You are such a wonderful person to cheer John and I on when you are going through so much. I been wondering about you I am so sorry that you have had so many problems. I thought of you last Sunday while I was watching the Buccaneers vs. San Francisco (terrible game) and now you are home and the Buc’s game is blacked out again (not fair I say). Well enough of my football humor (not very good I’m sure). I just want you to know I am over here on the other side of the Bay thinking of you and wishing you pain free days with your wonderful family. One Day at a Time my friend and if you or your family need anything please let me know.
