Caregiver finding answers and advice

It has been a while since I've last posted or even logged on here. My mom is currently going through treatment for stage iv colorectal cancer. She was originally diagnosed in June 2009 and has has a recurrence this February. Since then she has been on (and off due to side effect issues) since then. Recently she was hospitalized for a small bowel obstruction and is feeling better. I decided to login today and read through some of the posts to see if I could get some answers and/or advice for some of the issues/questions that always seem to come up. I was not disappointed. I've just spent the better part of the last hour going over previous postings and I've discovered that some of the subjects most would think are taboo (diarrhea, accidents, nausea) are discussed openly and honestly. I think I can even convince my mom to leave the house for a few hours as long as we are prepared. I have gained a lot by joining this site even though I don't post often. I want to thank those of you who do post and discuss some of your most intimate thoughts. You are not the only one that benefits.
