Very excited!

So I couldn't wait to come home and type this to let you ladies know that I am spreading the word about ovarian cancer. I have been volunteering at the hospital I was treated at by teaching kartate thru the Kids Kicking Cancer program. I know the director because he is a student at our Martial Arts Academy that my fiancee and I know and it just so happened that when I was being treated for cancer the hospital started this program and I was asked to teach Karate once a week so as soon as I started feeling better of course I jumped at it. Anyways, I went to a Kids Kicking Cancer Mixer that was being held in my town and I met a women who runs the Pace Center for girls between the ages of 12 and 18 and after hearing my own story with cancer she was for moved and wants me to visit her center and tell my story for awareness. She was shocked that the doctor's didn't even know I had cancer and how I went in for a minor surgery and I woke up with a full hysterectomy, stage 3c ovarian cancer and was put into surgical menopause. I already ordered teal toe cards to hand out to the girls. I am so very excited. :-)

What a totally marvelous thing to be doing! It has been proven that exercise really helps the immune system, heart, lungs, brain, etc. The mental focus and positive emotions, including sense of strength and power, that these kids get will help them enormously. Good for you!!

I am sure you will be a powerful motivator and this just sounds like such a meaningful and positive thing to do! I'm so proud of you and happy for you! I love a happy surprise like this! Life is good, and things like this remind us of how true that is. ((((hugs))))

and I can feel your excitement. It's so important to get the word out about ov/ca. I have given out so many teal toe cards and find how little women know about this killer. It's so great you are reaching the young women who can then talk about it to their friends.

Carol, you could help by volunteering at your local American Cancer society in the Look Good Feel Good program. It would be perfect for you since they provide a free make up class for woman going thru chemo. Just give the ACS a call.
