Aromatase Inhibitors and Joint Pain

Look what I just found:

"Joint pain from taking an aromatase inhibitor can be troubling. But a 2008 British study suggests that women who experienced joint pain while taking hormonal therapy medicine were less likely to have the breast cancer come back (recur). Knowing that this side effect might indicate a reduced risk of the cancer coming back may help some people stick with treatment despite the side effects."

    Hi Mollie,

Had no joint or bone pain on Arimidex but went on to have widespread lung and lining mets. Femara had them stable for a while but, the joint and bone pain were so horrid. The cancer recurred.

Don't think much of study. Side effects are experience differently by each person using a drug. If you loose your hair during chemotherapy, doesn't mean that the drug is working better than someone who doesn't loose their hair. It's only a side effects.
