Thanks Lori,
I have been lurking around. Been in sort of a funk. Just haven't felt like "talking". Very unusual for me. All of a sudden today I feel more like myself than I have in a few weeks. Go figure.
So glad to hear that you are recovered from the VATS and feeling well. I have a PET and CT Tuesday the 11th. Of course I am getting all nervous about it. Nothing new there. I really have not felt that great for the last few weeks, but then given the complications with the radiation pneumonitis, the oxygen, the antibiotics, the steroids and so on...how good should I expect to be feeling? I had a pulmonary function test Tues. and my lungs are functioning at 67%. I'll take that! I go, go, go all the time. Not that I am claiming to be productive! My Mom insists that I do not rest enough. Could be right, aren't Moms usually right? Maybe I am expecting too much, too soon. Anyway, going to try and keep the worrying surpressed and pray for good test results.
I will try to be more present on the forum. I am so happy that you and some of the other "charter members" have made a point of keeping things rolling along!
Take care and may God bless you with continued good health!

You know what I find before exams and scans is that I start feeling pains where previously there were none. I know my whole out look on life changes and like you said I get in a funk. Then after I find out everything is okay I feel great. All the emotional roller coasters we go through our mental well being has so much to do with our physical well being. Another thing I have learned about my body is that it is slow to heal, but it does rebound, and here today I feel better than I have in years, even way before the cancers. I know you went through a rough treatment and I understand that the lungs do heal after the pneumontis, I suppose it just takes time. Your mom is probably right, and we have to rest and we have to give our bodies time to heal. I am sending prayers and thoughts your way, and want you to have good test results.
If you read through the posts you see how grateful everyone is that there is a discussion group for anal cancer. If you had not pursued CSN to get one going, I don't know if there would ever have been one, and thank you so much for that. Lori0 -

Yes she did, when I 1st came on all we had was the rare cancer, or correctol discussion groups. As you know the correctol tx is very different. Rectal cancer is treated pretty much the same, but anal has higher cure rates.0
