Xeloda update
The only other news is that my onc says my cancer markers are normal. So that means we'll have to use CT scans to track any progression, and to confirm the effectiveness of the xeloda. The bad news here is that CT scans are less frequent than blood draws, so I won't get updates as often as I would like. The good news is that I'll get more information with CT scans.
Hugs,
Linda

Xeloda...
Linda,
I've been on Xeloda for about two months now and so far so good, too! I took it 5 days a week in addition to rads 5 days a week.....I finished rads 3 weeks ago.....I now am on an upped dosage... 3000 per day..1500 in the AM and 1500 in the PM...I take it for 7 days and off 7 days...I will do this for 8 weeks then have all the scans to see if it's working. ...I know the two clavicle nodes have shrunk but have no idea of the other nodes that are affected....until the scans are done...keeping my fingers crossed...for you, too! Oral chemo is sooooo much easier then the IV chemo....
Let's pray this is our " magic bullet" that keeps the beast in check....
My best to you, keep us posted....there are a few of us on Xeloda...

I am just finishing the first week of my four months post radiation on Xeloda...like you, Nancy, 1500 morning, 1500 night, one week on and one week off. So far no SEs.
I get a ultrasound chest scan Dec 29, and then a PET scan three months after that. So we will finally find out if all this chemo is working. Keeping fingers crossed for all of us!
I also started Tamoxifen one week back...had my first hot flash this morning...other than that no SEs so far from that either.
Yes, oral chemo is much easier, agree!
Linda, have you checked out www.ibcsupport.org? It's a really active group for IBC.

Wishing the pill is doing the job, gives you minimal side effects, and very efficacious.
