Time for my next scan..... Update!

I was supposed to be on annual scans, but my last scan was delayed for a variety of reasons - the first delay was a family matter, the second, longer delay was because of my having bronchitis, and not wanting false positives in my lungs from inflammation from all the coughing.
I feel great, but you never know with this beast... In any event, either it's returned or it hasn't. I'm putting my money on the latter. I'll report in when I have results........

I was sent home and told to come back for my next scan in 18 months! All is great! Wishing all of us the same!

Cell typewanttogetwellsoon said:the type of cell..
It was great to hear your news!
What type have you got? It'd be interesting to know what stage you were when diagnosed and what type of cell you have. Ok if you'd rather not say.
I had mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix, with extensive peritoneal seeding. The tumor type is considered to be low-grade, slow growing.
I was stage 4 at diagnosis - it was found encompassing my ovary, and spread throughout my peritoneum. My appendix must have ruptured at some point prior to diagnosis, spewing cancer cells everywhere. I had extensive cytoreduction, followed by intra-peritoneal chemo with FUDR, a 5FU derivative. My peritoneal cancer was secondary to appendix cancer, hence the use of the colorectal protocols for the drugs.
I answer all questions. If my information can help someone else, then we're both better for it.
