After weeks of using the tounge exersises that wife found on website she came home with sugarless gum (I really hate chewing gum) but tried it for several days and found that chewing really gave the tounge a work out, made the throat hurt a little more than usual but seemed to help with eating things like eggs over hash browns-K.F.C and veg soup-I'm only a month out from last rad.-food has no taste and some of it like chicken feels like wood in the mouth and need water to chase it down--just sharing the gum for those who have lost the use of the tounge from peg-feeding like me.Have Question, Having C.T scan on the 18th they said at the begining that my cancer was not cureable--how long in time before I can have radation again if the c is still there? I read every ones post daily and they keep me going --thanks

Hi rarph
Glad you got the tongue a good workout buy chewing gum,and glad to hear it is helping you. I love chewing gum and can do it all day long until I start to bite my lips and have to stop.
On your question of how many times can you be radiated? Normally only once, but as in my case I was radiated twice to the same area in the head because my bone structure fit in a group of only 2% of people that can take radiation twice or that is what I was told by my last oncal man. My third time with the same cancer I was told that there way nothing more they can do but may be try chemo again. I said no thanks and I am still hear today 6 years later. So I don’t believe too much in that Not being Curable thing.
Keep strong and keep positive and keep believing anything is possible
