****'s Birthday!
Today is ****'s 54th birthday, his 3rd birthday since his stage 3c diagnosis. We can't believe he has been in this so long (and we know many of you have been in it longer) and we are tired but we are grateful.
As you know, we have had many, many hard days and weeks. 57 or so rounds of chemo for **** and 2 major surgeries. He has suffered and that has sucked. And, during the past almost 3 years we have had, many, many, many beautiful days. Right now the sun is starting to go down and he is out stand up paddling in some good surf right in our neighborhood bay. I am cooking seared ahi, artichokes, brown rice and bok choy. We will sit down as a family and have a meal together and celebrate and for that I am very, very, very grateful.
We don't know what the next year or even then next week will bring but I wanted to encourage some of you who may be starting out in this nightmare that there may be the opportunity for some wonderful days.
Thank you for your continued support.
Aloha,
Kathleen

Happy Birthday Week
Happy Birthday Week since we missed the day. Celebrate the whole week. Last Winter I was doing Folfox with all those issues of low blood levels so I could not visit my son in HI. This Winter, my husband and I plan to fly to Honolulu and enjoy the wonderful weather. I have nueropathy so I am all for enjoying HI outside, grilling wonderful native food, and seeing those beautiful sunsets.

Ahhh Love those Birthdays
Each and every Birthday seems more special anymore. What a wonderful way to have spent it, under an Hawaiian sunset sky, the lapping waves of the ocean, and homemade food and a lot of love. Doesn't get any better then that does it?
Happy Birthday to ****!!
