Dear Friends ... I see lots of posting about stress, and have really struggle with worry and anxiety throughout my diagnosis, treatment and on-going follow-up...I needed help desperately. Through free counseling available at the cancer center I'm now associated with I got involved with meditation as a stress reliever.
This week is the last session of an 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class I participated in and have to say it is great. I have a greater sense of being in the present, vs worrying about the past or future and can manage my thinking about just about everything much better.
Look for this in your area ... perhaps through a wellness center or "center for integrated living". Meditation is wonderful. Cut and paste this link to learn more: http://www.umassmed.edu/content.aspx?id=41252
This is all based on John Kabat-Zinn's book, Full Catastrophe Living ... I highly recommend that book as well.
Wishing you well ...
