Post-Radiation: Skin Question

Hi all beautiful ladies!

As most of you know, I finished radiation a few weeks ago. Now my skin is peeling. My concern is about my nipple. It used to be brown, but the color is all gone. The breast is also a little swollen. Notice it more when I wear support for them. When the breast is loose, it doesn't bother me as much. Stopped wearing bras last February but when i wear a tan-top for "support", I know it hurts. Are these normal post treatment symptoms?

    sorry I can't give any advice on this at all..I never had any burning, chapping etc..but wanted to send good thoughts your way!

    You might....
    Want to check out these symptoms with your rads oncologist.....My breast stayed swollen for a while after my first go round with rads...keep using your creams....I was also told that aloe gel kept in the frig helps....but I tried that last week and it kind of burned.....I am still using my Biofine 4 times a day....I have a burn on my clavicle that is now peeling but getting much better....as far as the nipple....no clue....

    Hoping it gets better soon...

    Had the same thing
    My entire nipple peeled! It's still sensitive even after 3 months out from rads. My surgeon took a look last week when i had my port removed and said I still had swelling, etc. from radiation. So it takes a while.

    I had some peeling on my aureola and it scared me too, but, my rads oncologist said it was normal, even though I never burned. My breast was also swollen for awhile after rads. Continue using your creams that your rads oncologist gave you during treatment for weeks yet. Talk to your rads oncologist about this, but, I think you will be fine.
