update on ****
Lisa was so sweet to ask about **** in a pm. He is currently on Folfori + Avastin I think about # 56 treatment total. The last CAT showed things stable or shrinking in his lungs. He has a PET in October, sure would be great if most of those things didn't light up.
So, right now we are trying to live our lives. I don't know how he does it. He is on chemo Tues - Thurs and is out and about by Friday. He is still in good shape which blows me away. He's working out, surfing and boating as much as possible. It really is the Marine fighter pilot in him.
A few weeks ago he had what we think was a blockage which had him in a ton of pain. They did all sorts of scans and didn't see anything else and it resolved itself. At the beginning of the pain he put himself on a liquid diet and we think that really helped. He stayed on the liquid diet for 4 days.
He is dealing with the side effects of chemo and his hernia every day. I hate seeing him in pain but he keeps going. He is amazing.
Thinking of all of you.
Aloha,
Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,
I'm glad to hear ****'s update and how well he's doing overall. Sorry to hear about the pain he does deal with, but sounds like it's being managed pretty well.
Thanks for the update- hope you and the girls are doing well too.
Don't stay away from the board too long- we like to hear from you.
Hugs,

No doubt about it, this is
No doubt about it, this is tough stuff. It is interesting to read your posts as it gives me some insight to what my husband went through while I was in treatment. Thank you!
I was dx in June 2009 with Stage 3 cancer and had nine surgeries, 30 hits of radiation in the bum, and 50 does of chemo. To say I felt like a truck repeatedly hit me would be an understatement.
My personal mantra that helped me through it all was "months for years," meaning I could tolerate the trtmts, knowing/believing that it was a tradeoff for many more wonderful years to come (crosssing my fingers!).

Thanks Kathleen
Thanks Kathleen for the update on ****. I think of you all often and hope and pray that things are going well for him. He truly is amazing. I am glad he is out doing the things he enjoys and just living life. I am trying to do the same, but it is not always easy. I think the mind is the worst enemy and once we can learn to deal and accept the situation then living becomes easier.
Take care, my friend,

Thinking of you and ****
Dear Kathleen,
I don't visit as often as I did, but I was so glad to see your update. I'm so sorry he is having so much pain, but do hope it improves really soon. I think of you and your family often and you and **** are so remarkable. You are such an inspiration!
Keep up the good work! I know **** will beat this!
Hugs and Healing,
Priscilla
PS. A little update on me...David died a year ago September 14. I'm now living with his Mom who has been diagnosed in April with Cancer of Unknown Primary. She's also undergoing treatment at MD Anderson. She's getting ready for debunking surgery next month after four months of chemo. We are both doing well considering!0 -

Amazing
I don't know how he does it. I haven't hit #40 yet, but chemo is really wearing me down.
I'm so glad he is tolerating it pretty well, and everything has been staying stable!0 -
Trooper
My goodness that guy is a trooper. So glad is out there having what he loves to do. Glad that he got his blockage under control as I've heard it can be very painful. He has been surfing since the beginning of your posts. You are a wonderful wife and mother and very dedicated at both.
