Transderm scop
My dad is receiving Chemo and radiation and has excessive mucous. Has anyone ever heard of transderm scop to stop the mucous. I read the side effects and seem a bit uneasy to try. Anyone heard of this patch to try for mucous problem?
Thanks for your help

Hi Michelle
Sorry - I have no experience with the patch. Know what you mean, though, about being put off by some side effects described for many drugs. One of my docs always grins when he says "never read the side effects info". Then he'll tell me what he thinks, and what I should be on the lookout for. Good luck.0 -
Same here.
Never heard of tran scop for mucous and never read side effects. Docs usually know the more common and will tell you. Drug companies have to put all side effests on package, even if only one person had that side effect. Welcome to the world of law suits.

Yes.
My hubby is using it now. He would recommend it! He is almost 3 weeks out of treatment and was spitting mucus constantly. Now, it did take him to the opposite end of the spectrum at the beginning, but it evened out after a few days. He's been using the 1.5 mg patch for a little over a week.
Give it a try!
Good luck!
