Ouch is Right
"Nasty" is being kind, Buzz:)
It's a whip alright. I only got 3 marginal days every 2-weeks = 6 days a month where I felt so-so. When I look back at that, it was only 36 days of feeling less like chit out of 180 days.
It had me questioning alright. Those were some very long days and even longer nights. Faced with this possibility again...I'm just not sure. I'm waiting to see how long I get out of this last run. I'm only 5 months out of treatment, so I hope to get at least 6 to 7 more months...that would give me 11 months of fighting to get me 11-12 months of life.
But, for me, I still see that as a draw, as I said in my 'chemo wars' post. If something shows off this next scan cycle or before a year, that's going to tell me pretty much what I need to know.
I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I stood at the very crossroads you find yourself at today - I wondered some of the things that are going through your mind right now.
I wish I had the answer - as I said, six more months and I can tell you more.
You know my feelings on chemo, you've read some of my posts. Chemo is such a contradiction in terms. I do know that it does not get easier the more you do.
I've done chemo now 51 times and on the last infusion, my hands had slipped off the rope that you throw out. I do get it. Folfiri is a tough regimen.
Still around if you ever need me.

Get plenty of rest and be
Get plenty of rest and be kind to yourself. I hope that nasty sh*t (I mean the chemo haha)kicks some cancer butt.0 -
You can do it
You can do it, Buzz! I know it's nasty, but it's not as bad as oxaliplatin- just different. The diarrhea isn't any fun- make sure they're giving you enough for that. Of course, if you have a colostomy then it's probably easier to manage.
Take care and hang in there, my friend.

It stinks!
This chemo stinks but I guess it has keep us around a little longer. I wish it wasn't so overwhelming. Those good days are so great and the little achievements mean so much it's hard not to stick with it.. eventhough it takes every once of my energy to walk back in and get another treatment. Thinking about you and everyone else going through this.

Buzz
Buzz,
**** is laying on the couch right now with the same mixture. I think this is treatment 56 or 57. I hate that you are both going through this right now. I hate that all of you are in the midst of this. I want you to know how much I appreciate **** going through treatment every other week. I know he has to do it based on him but I know so much is also based on us.
You are an incredible man. Stay strong.
Aloha,
Kathleen0
