I am on Xeloda for Stage 4 breast cancer.Looking for others

Would like input about side effects

    Xeloda....
    I have now been on Xeloda for almost 6 weeks, for a recurrence...stage IV, it returned in my clavicle lymph nodes and other nodes and I am triple negative...also finishing 5 1/2 weeks of radiation, again...for me personally I have tolerated Xeloda very well.....Xeloda also enhances the effects of radiation, which I needed....

    Here's what I do.....

    I take 2 Xeloda pills in the morning at 6:30 AM......and two at 6:30 PM...take them 10-12 hours apart....Don't touch them....but FIRST I take my anti nausea meds 45 minutes before the Xeloda...then I eat, don't ever take it on an empty stomach...I usually eat a bowl of instant oatmeal with a piece of toast and drink a full glass of milk...that helps coat your stomach....then I pop the 2 pills...the anti nausea meds taken before hand is key....I have not had any nausea at all....I also take the anti nausea meds on the weekends even though I don't take the Xeloda...also make sure you do drink a full glass of something to make sure it gets washed down....I was warned to carefully watch my hands and feet, because of the side effect called "hand foot syndrome" ...watch if they start turning red or dark...I haven't had any problem with that...or watch for any white spots that should appear in your mouth...again, so far no problem....because I am on Xeloda and radiation, a double whammy, I have experienced some heavy duty fatigue! My radiation is early,7:30 AM... that doesn't help....but I am blessed to be able to nap when ever I want...

    I have one radiation treatment left, tomorrow, yeah! I see my oncologist on Thursday to see where I go from here...don't know if I will stay on the Xeloda or back to IV chemo....it's a real ride, that's for sure!
