Mouthwash

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
My wife was going to start a trial for a mouthwash during her second round of chemo. The doctor has been examining her and determined she is not a good candidate because her mouth is moist and does not look like it is developing sores. It hurts at times and may get worse later. Oh well back to the salt water rinse for her. Guess its a good thing. Shes really eating well.

    Mouthwash Trial

    I am glad she does so well, as in a lot of people mouth dry-nessand sores can be very bad sometimes.

    delayed dry mouth and sores
    Jim's dry mouth and sores did not get bad until the last week of rads and progressed to really bad the week following. Maybe you should ask to be in trial at the end of treatment?

    Lack of mouth sores is a good thing.
    Glad that she is continuing to eat well. Hope the mouth wash is helpful. Maybe she won't develop them, that would be awesome.

    I'm going to ask about it
    the end of treatment. so the placebo is the salt water rinse and the other is something with probiotics to simulate saliva. We'll still ask, thanks for the advice.
