    more comments I remember are:

    Q: does it hurt if I touch the incision (where I had brain surgery)
    A: I don't know. Will it hurt you if I punch you in the face?

    Q: Is your head going to stay that size forever?
    A: Only if it doesn't return to it's normal size (swelling)

    Q: So how was the hospital food?
    A: You're joking right?

    And my personal favorite whenever we would go visit family or friends or they would visit us: "Well, I don't want to go to _______ or do _________ if Teresa can't go and do that too". Gee thanks folks, no pressure, really......

    God, please keep your arm around my shoulders and your hand across my mouth......

    They Died
    I couldn't believe the people that always wanted to tell me about their relative or friend that had cancer....

    Oh, and by the way..they died.

    Beat Them To It
    I finally learned to stop them before they got there....

    When someone started telling me their story, I'd politely stop them and tell them if it didn't end positive, that I'd rather hear it at another time.

    I tried to only let positive energy into my life during that time.

    Oh yeah thats the best...My uncle had that..he's dead now! Oh wow really? Thanks for the vote of confidence!! I feel at ease now....Or when my father in law was like I had 2 friends die from that...this is your son!!! Lets try to be positive that this is a different situation.

    Yes, people begin a story about someone they knew with "throat cancer" and oops... They forgot how the story ended. Oh well...they had good intentions.
