Hi everyone, this is my first time on this site so hope I've done this right. Our 7yr old son was diagnosed with childhood ALL in July this year. The induction stage seemed to go well with Matthew tolerating the chemo well and all the initial tests came back with promising results. The consultant told us that Matthew was in the low risk category and that we had every reason to be optimistic.
However, last friday his first MRD result at the end of the induction phase came back showing Matthew as high risk. To say we are shocked and terrified is an understatement. Is there anyone out there that has had the same thing happen to them? We are so desperate for something to hold onto, a reason to be positive again. We know that the percentage of people this happens to is low, can anyone help??
