did your doctor give you a "risk of reoccurence" specific number?

I did not ask for this info
Although my oncologist sees me as a long term survivor. Many published stats are old, it takes years to gather the data and then publish it. So I don't see the stats as very useful and ingore them any time I read an article.
My radation oncologist told me ,"You have X number of years left in your life."
Which pissed me off. I plan to dance on his desk a la Drew Barrymore and David Letterman way beyond his prediction, although I doubt I flash him.
If you ask for this info, will it depress you or will you use it to fight even more so that you are a "good stat".0
