Thyroid Math...seems to leave me still sleepy and cold.
Test Result Reference*
TSH 2.29 .49-4.67 Normal
Total T4 7.1 4.7-11.7 Normal
Free T3 2.16 1.45-3.48 Normal (lower end)
Free T4 .9 .7-2.2 Normal (lower end)
*I realize that reference numbers may vary between labs.
My numbers suggest that all is well...or wellish, however I remain FREEZING..
even on hot days (like yesterday) I am only warm in direct sunlight...
All I want to do is curl up on a warm rock and sleep..
Is there something wrong with my thyroid or am I turning into a lizard?
Thanks for any info..I see the Doctor on Wednesday and want to discuss the Thyroid meds....

Hard to Say
My ENT whom is really good and is envolved with a lot of trials and research. Tells me that hormones are still really not well understood compared to other areas in medicine.
My TSH has steadily been increasing over the last two years, it's at 6.1 as of a week or so ago.
Free T4 is on the lower normal end, forgot the number at the moment.
I don't feel the cold as much, but do get fatigued earlier in the evening.
Anyways, the ENT says that some people might have a TSH of 10 and feel fine, while others can be in normal ranges, but need put on synthetic meds....

It is just a part of the new normal; I like weather in the 80th and 90th but hate anything under 78degres as I am too cold. At work I have all the A/C vents plugged with paper trying to keep my office temp up as much as possible. I also sleep with three blankets and my wife with none because they like the house temp set at 74 and that is too cold for me.
Wishing you the best

FREEZING COLD
Stacey, I also was freezing cold for months after my radiation and chemo ended. My thyroid was fine. I was told that this would subside as the effects of the radiation wore off. My excersise regiment I am convinced sped up the process of my return to normal regarding being cold.
Good luck

If baking peach cobbler was exercise, I'd be looking like Rachel McLish right now. Yeah, I don't think it counts. Lol0 -

After I started on the Thyroid meds there was no improvement for me on being cold all the time. But I did have a big improvement in feeling good and wanting to do things again.

I don't think so....I am eating tons o peach cobbler and I'm almost 115 lbs. I think if it was exercise I'd be losing weight.
;-) I'm sitting here trying to decide whether I want peachy yummy dessert or try some cereal. Hunger pangs.
Edit: blech. I should have gone with the peachy yummy dessert. Cereal sucked. I tried to be good. Won't do that again.0 -

Yeah, i have some medical bills i am trying to pay off first. I still need to sell my old jewelry, that will make me feel less guilty for spending the money if I use that money when I buy my iPad. I need to save before I get one. My 6 months of car insurance is due in September, so it will probably be a while. Lol.0 -
Not sure what John saw, butstaceya said:IPAD...
where do you suggest...am considering costco because they have excellent return and customer service, price seems samish in my limited research..I am in nooooooooooooooo hurry..
Stacey
Not sure what John saw, but Best Buy had the first iPads on sale a month or two ago. I need the iPad 2, because I need 3G, I don't have Internet at my house. Everything I do is on my little iPhone with a weak signal. So I am just going to go with AT&T, like I have had for years. Best Buy only has the iPads with wifi, not 3G, because of the contract needed.0
