Tonight I am attending my very first OVCA support group meeting.

I am looking forward to this meeting. I have spoken on the phone with 2 of the members. One of the ladies is coming to pick me up, let me ride with her. I'm a little nervous though. A social worker who works with cancer patients and their families is scheduled to speak. I'll let you know how it goes :)

    Support Group
I joined a support group for women with gynecological cancers in May. It was wonderful. The group is run by a social worker who works at one of the hospital's cancer centers. In Aug. we had a dietician come and speak and in Sept. we are having a speaker (husband and wife team) come and speak on sexuality. Overall the group is great and no topic is off limits. It is one of the best things I did for myself and have met several wonderful ladies who have been through hell and back and are still positive, upbeat and funny. I hope yours goes as well.

    It was great! A medical
It was great! A medical psychiatrist spoke. She was very down to earth. It wasn't a lecture but more like an open discussion. This lady is a breast cancer survivor. I met some very nice people last night! I felt an instant bond with every woman present, as I do with all the ladies on this site.
