    If I treat the sore before it gets too bad, an OTC product called "Kanka" helps. It coats the sore and forms a barrier. It burns at first, but then really protects the sore from irritation and avoids pain. It seems to help them heal faster, too. It's much easier to get it on the inside of my cheek than on my tongue (dry tongue with tissue, apply Kanka, stick out tongue till it dries while soaking up saliva with tissue). If I don't catch them early, they just have to run their course. I am fortunate that I have never had more than three at one time, and I really feel for you. Do make it your doctor's problem, as well as yours.
