Mon. mother starts cisplatin and paclitaxil

The doc's have said the government has pulled Flora-5 ??? This is what they said at mothers appiontment today. They have replaced it with paclitaxil. SO here we go . I hope everyone had a good week and a better weekend!

    I don't think the FDA has pulled its use in cancer treatment, I believe that there have been some problems with manufacturing and it is extremely limited in it's availability. My husband was put on paclitaxol as well.

    Good luck with your mother's treatments. We are praying for her and you. Hopefully she will have minimal side effects.

    My husband just finished (07/29) his 2 week regime of Cisplatin followed by 96 hours of 5-FU. Didn't hear any rumblings at the hospital about shortages.

    this "switch" happened last minute , the doc said the gov does it all the time ????
