Good luck and Prayers!
Try not to fight about it, just do what you need to do. I think I was considered short term and I was out 9 months. FMLA (federal law) protects your job for 12 weeks a year. The years starts the day you go out on leave. It doesn't have to be consecutive weeks either. It may also protect your benefits. Check with your union rep if you have a union.

Well you have to do what feels right for you, but I'm a teacher too and I managed with the help of our sick bank which gives us extended paid time off during medical crisis. Does your system have a sick bank? Where are you in treatment now?
Dee
I guess I will fill out the paperwork. This is good for six months and if the doc says I can still work half days then I will still be working. I have dipped in the sick pool the last three years and I just don't think that will cut it this year with him wanting me to go PT. I don't know if I am making the right choice or not
