I was wondering if anyone has had Abraxane infusions. I have two more AC infusions and then on to Abraxane. Any words of advice?

    I had abraxane
    I had abraxane after my allergic reactions to taxoter and taxol. I got it along with carboplatin and herceptin and I tolerated it pretty well. I of course was a bit nauseous, tired and on the verge of shaking chills a couple times, but from what I hear I had it pretty good. I did drink a lot of coconut water with a splash of V8 juice before and for a couple days after my infusions (I really do think it helped, because when I started to feel bad I would drink it and feel better). Good luck and hope it goes well for you.

    Hi Marcha, the difference
    Hi Marcha, the difference between Abraxane and the other taxanes is that it uses a fat molecule to carry it while the others use a solvent, hence the steroids before, during and after tx. You don't need them with Abraxane as far as I've read. I would have preferred using it to the taxotere I had. Good luck with your treatment!
