OK, so I took the silence wrong...sorry...just feeling weird these days....
So my big trip starts tomorrow!
We leave by train early in the morning for Hamburg, Germany. It's going to be fun....highspeed train will get us there in 4 hours! Then, to the docks to board the ship. This is a new Celebrity line ship, maiden voyage. Because it is just repositioning from Germany to the Mediterranean, it only has one stop...in Barcelona, Spain. We booked a balcony cabin, facing land (when there is land...*smile*). We go down the Western European coast, around the tip of Spain, to get there. Then from Barcelona (where I meet up with a fellow CSN'er), we finish the cruise in Rome. Because it is the inaugural cruise, we have been promised all sorts of special activities and parties and the like!!! I am VERY excited!!! The Friday we are on the ship is my birthday, which is what started all of this planning.
After leaving the ship in Rome, we are staying for 2 nights. I booked a hotel close to the train station, so things will be easy. Saturday we have a semi-private tour of the Vatican scheduled. I have always wanted to see this, but the last time we were in Rome, the lines were too long...this time, with the tour, we skip the lines...YEA!
Monday we board the train to Venice. It goes straight up Italy, and the views are reportedly fantastic! We stay in Venice for 3 nights (never been there) in a hotel by St Mark's square.
Thursday we fly to Berlin, Germany. Neither of us have been there, and my beau is doing some research from the war there. That, too, is for 3 nights. Then home.
Yes, I will take pics. Yes I will post them, but not until after I get back...
Hugs, Kathi
