ACS or LiveStrong or CCA
I'd inquire with the ACS (American Cancer Society), and LiveStrong (Lance Armstrong's Foundation), and CCA (Colon Cancer Alliance).
I was very impressed when I contacted LiveStrong. They matched me up with many different patient advocate programs for many different areas, including financial. And they were very prompt in contacting me after I filled out their forms, and when I had any questions.0 -

Thanks you guys for the new lead and your response. I've found many organizations to help those With insurance, but not a one for those without. Truly a shame since I'm sure given the unemployment rate in this country, I'm sure I'm not the only one who was scrambling trying to make ends meet the way it was withoutt having to buy private insurance to cover until a job was landed, ya know? Thanks again!0 -
Other option
healthcare.gov
If you have been uninsured for six months, and if you are denied insurance due to an existing condition, you may qualify under the healthcare act.
Certainly worth a try.0 -

I am too looking for health insurance. However, I did receive transporation funds, utilities, and item assistance from Cancer Care, No Wooden Nickels, Cancer Funding of America and American Cancer Society.
Glad to hear that you found some help.
Here are links to the organizations you mention:
CAncerCare
No Wooden Nickels
CAncer Fund of America (cfoa.com)
No need for an ACS link, if you are reading this you are already on their site :-0
The major drug companies all offer assistance as well. For example, if you need help paying your Xeloda copay you may be able to get funding from this site:

The Wellness Community is another good resource. Many communities have their own wellness community, but they will help you out of their area. They will help negotiate bills, finding Oncologists, etc...
