Sure hope that Mofo kid didn't run Bryan off for good. I'm pretty sure Bryans son Keifer was to start chemo tomorrow. I hope Bryan comes back and lets us know how it's going. Sue
Hey all. Sorry I haven't replied...it's been kinda hectic lately. I don't know who Mofo is or why he/she would have run me off...but it's just been busy.
Yes, Kiefer started chemo. Last Tuesday, doc tried him on Rituximab, but he had a terrible reaction to it. He started convulsing and shaking. Scared the crap out of both of us. Doc took him off the Rituximab. Thursday, he was admitted to the hospital and started on his regular chemo regiment. He went through his second spinal tap and has another scheduled on Tuesday. He's handling chemo pretty well...thus far.
Good news is, his bone marrow biopsy and his spinal tap came back negative! YAY!0 -

Bryan,
It is great news the BMB and Spinal came back negative. I wonder what they will do to replace the Rituxan? I have went thru the R and did great with it,fortunately. A lot of this is a hit and miss trial. Some people can't handle this or that ,but they always have something to replace it.
As far as The MOFO response,I don't know if you saw it or not. It was the first reply. I tell you if I would have gotten a reply like that I don't know if I would have came back or not. Sure glad you did though. If you did not see it and want to know what he said, let me know and I am sure Sue and I can fill you in. He says he was 16 years old. He was a real nut case.
Anyway hang in there and things will start to get better. We are here for both of you and want to help as much as possible. John(FNHL-1-4A-5/10)prefer to gone instead of remission.0 -

Nah...that's okay. Don't want to know what mofo said, especially if it wasn't nice. Just wanted you to know my absence had nothing to do with him.
The doc said that rituximab wasn't an essential part of his treatment (which makes me wonder why they tried it in the first place) so I don't think they are going to replace it with anything. Kiefer has been sleeping ALOT the past couple of days and hasn't eaten that much. I guess this is normal?
He dreads the third spinal tap, coming up this Tuesday, and hates the fact that they are going to be a part of his normal routine.
Thanks for all of the feedback and for allowing me into your group. I know I'm not the one with cancer, but the discussions really help me to understand what my son is going through so that I can be a better support system for him.0
